You will need a 1.5mm Allen driver (for M5\/M15 Only), and a \u2018Jumper Cable\u201d in order to complete the instructions. If you don&#8217;t have a jumper cable, scroll down and click on the button to contact support and request to purchase one.<\/p>\n<p>1.5mm Allen Driver \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Jumper Cable<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27901 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Goldriver.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"238\" height=\"326\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27902 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/jumper-cable.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"328\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Note: Because of the slight difference in design between the M10 and the M5\/M15, there are a few \u00a0additional steps needed for the M5, in order to install the \u2018Jumper Cable\u2019<\/p>\n<p>1. Make sure the Freefly battery is unplugged, and locate the GCU on the back of your M\u014dvi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M<\/strong><strong>5\/M15 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0M10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27903 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"311\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27904 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"295\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2. Carefully unplug the cable from the Spektrum satellite receiver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M5\/M15 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0M10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27905 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"304\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27906 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"306\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3. Locate the empty 5-pin port underneath the M\u014dvi icon on the GCU.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M<\/strong><strong>5<\/strong><strong>\/<\/strong><strong>M<\/strong><strong>1<\/strong><strong>5 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0M10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27911 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"300\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27912 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/freeflysystems.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Jumper_10.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"211\" height=\"298\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0Carefully insert the Jumper Cable into the white(it may be black, but it&#8217;s in the same location as the photo indicates) 5-pin port. The port is slotted, so the Jumper Cable only goes in one way.<\/p>\n<p>6. After you have carefully seated the Jumper Cable into the port, position your M\u014dvi on the support stand, plug the Freefly battery back into the M\u014dvi, then power up your M\u014dvi.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0Open the app on your device, and follow the instructions below for your operating system.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are using an iOS device with a WiFi adapter, you will need to use one of the devices below for the next steps, as that hardware configuration does not support the firmware update process.<\/li>\n<li>If you are running OSX (10.8+), connect to the M\u014dvi as usual through the \u201cConnect\u201d dialog (Bluetooth) and select \u201cUpdate Firmware\u201d from the \u201cSystem\u201d menu. (You should only have that option and \u201cUpdate Dongle Firmware\u201d). When you get, \u201cDevice is connected but not responding. Do not continue if the device bootstrap jumper is not in place! Do you wish to continue?\u201d select \u201cYes.\u201d Select the .bin file and open it. Flash the update. (It seems to work better if the bin file has been moved out of the downloads folder).<\/li>\n<li>If you are running this from a Windows computer, select the M\u014dvi from the \u201cConnection -&gt; Select Bluetooth\u201d menu, but do not connect to it. Select \u201cUpdate Firmware\u201d from the \u201cSystem\u201d menu, (You should only have that option and \u201cUpdate Dongle Firmware\u201d). Select the .bin file and start the flashing process. You should see \u201cHandshaking\u201d first followed by \u201cUploading\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0If you are using an Android device, select your M\u014dvi through the \u201cConnect\u201d menu. You will not see any motor activity or other signs of connection, but you can select \u201cUpdate Firmware\u201d from the \u201cSystem\u201d menu. (You should only have that option and \u201cUpdate Dongle Firmware\u201d). When you get, \u201cDevice is connected but responding. Do not continue if the device bootstrap jumper is not in place! Do you wish to continue?\u201d, select \u201cYes.\u201d Select the .bin file and start the flashing process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8.\u00a0Make sure you see the progress bar progress, and you obtain a message telling you the update is complete.<\/p>\n<p>9. Only after the firmware update has been successful, power off the M\u014dvi, remove the Jumper Cable, and power it on again to verify your unit boots up properly. Restart your Freefly Config app before reconnecting via Bluetooth.<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0If you are using an M5\/M15, (and you have completed the steps above) carefully replace the protective cover.
