]]> An increase or decrease to the span value will influence how quickly the gimbal reacts to a majestic control inputs. Lower span values will allow the gimbal to perform whip pans while high span values give even smoother movement.

The span value is an angle representing how far outside of your specified window you must be to reach the maximum rate of the gimbal.

Here are some settings combinations we recommend to get certain shots:

Default smooth:

  • Span : 135
  • Smoothing : 10
  • Window : 10
  • Remote rate scale : 100 deg/s
  • Hold strength : 8

Whip Pan with a light camera:

  • Span : 45
  • Smoothing : 2
  • Window : 5
  • Remote rate scale : 200 deg/s
  • Hold strength : 25

Whip Pan with a heavy camera:

  • Span : 60
  • Smoothing : 3
  • Window : 5
  • Remote rate scale : 200 deg/s
  • Hold strength : 20
